She finally did it!!!!

You can only watch this video if you promise not to judge my child on the fact that she didn't crawl until her 10 month birthday.

Caydence's First Pigtails

Caydence's hair has gotten so long, and her bangs hang in her eyes, but I just don't want to cut them! It is making me crazy, so I tried pigtails. I'm not sure how I feel about them. Tell me what you think.

Happy Birthday to us!!

So Danny's birthday and my birthday are exactly a week apart, so January is a big month for us. We celebrated his birthday (pictured above) on Friday, had a big party for both of us with his family on Sunday, same with my family on Monday, and then we celebrated my birthday the following friday. One week, and 4 birthday cakes later, we are definitely done with birthdays.

PS, the paper he is holding says "Happy Birthday Daddy!" and has Caydence's hands outlined on it.

Danny's big night

For those of you who don't know, Danny is in a band called The Market with some of his friends.  They just play local shows and mess around for fun, but last weekend they got to open for the X-96 "Nightmare before X-mas" show.  They played with The Brobecks, Anberlin, and Hoobastank.  It ended up being the biggest crowd they've ever played for.  Everyone was really impressed and it was a lot of fun.  You can't really see them very well in this picture, but I didn't bring a camera, and this was the best shot I could find online.  At least you can see how many people were there :)  Danny is on the right in a blue shirt.  Check them out www.myspace.com/themarketrock

Crazy month at the Preece House...

So the last month or so at the Preece house has been pretty crazy.  Matt got his mission call moved up 6 weeks and that has put everyone into high stress overload.  It was even trickier because Matt was away at school and moved home only days before he has to leave for the MTC.  Every spare chance he would come home and go shopping, go to the ortho (he just got his braces of on Monday), and move stuff home from school.

Mom was already way stressed about getting the house ready, and food prepared for the farewell when Matt put out an invite on facebook for the big event.  He had like 140 people say they were coming and 80 say "maybe."  So this made mom even more stressed out.  We decided to plan on feeding 200!  Crazy.  We worked for at least a week to get everything ready, cooked 200 potatoes, and served potato bar with salads and desserts.

Everything turned out really well, and we had PLENTY of left over potatoes!  We did have a lot of people show up, but a really big snow storm that morning kept a lot of people from making it.  Here is a picture of Matt and just a fraction of the people who came.  (We also had people in the craft room, Mike's room, Paige's room, Nicki's room, the Living room, the kitchen, and the dining room!)
Oh, and Matt's talk went well - aside from the "joke" at the beginning that no one really understood :)

Last night we celebrated his birthday (because it is on Dec. 22) and Christmas.  We had a nice dinner and gave him presents (let's be honest-what do you give a missionary?!)  Then he unpacked all of his stuff from school and repacked his suitcases with mission stuff.  Tonight he is being set apart, and tomorrow he leaves!!

"See ya in 2", as Matt says.

Festival of the Trees

Danny, Caydence and I went to the Festival of the Trees tonight.  Danny had never been, and I hadn't been in years, so it was pretty new for both of us.  We ran into my cousin Ally and her husband Matt, which was good because they told us all of the good trees to look at :)  These were a few of our favorites:

Twilight of course.
For the golf lover.
This one was all glass.  (Ally said she heard this one went for $27,000!)
This was in the gingerbread portion.  It was about 5 feet tall!
